Land Management & Ecological Grazing Consultations
About Lacey Sharp

Lacey Sharp is a seasoned agrarian, grazier, and regenerative land steward based in Mariposa, California. With deep roots in agriculture, she grew up on her family’s cow-calf operation in Texas, where she developed a lifelong connection to land, livestock, and rural working landscapes. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science – Animal Production from California State University, Fresno, with an emphasis in beef production.
Lacey’s career spans the entire beef industry, from research at the Fresno State – San Joaquin Experimental Range to her time at the Colorado State University Beef Improvement Center, and later as a fabrication supervisor at Cargill, gaining hands-on experience from range to rail.

With more than a decade of experience in livestock-based land management, Lacey has worked with landowners, agencies, and communities to implement sustainable grazing systems that reduce wildfire risk, regenerate ecosystems, and support soil and watershed health.

As the founder of the prescribed grazing division at Happy Goat, Lacey built a program that uses targeted grazing as a tool for ecological resilience, fire mitigation, and community education. Under her leadership, grazing operations partnered with schools, agencies, and landowners to transform landscapes using goats and sheep, reconnecting people to land through practical, regenerative solutions.

Today, Lacey brings that same expertise and vision to her work with the Mariposa Fire Safe Council, where she continues to advance wildfire prevention, community resilience, and land stewardship initiatives. Her role integrates her agricultural background with fire prevention strategies, fostering collaborative partnerships that protect both people and landscapes across Mariposa County.
